Premium Materials & Precision Engineering

Duralite® from Quanex is a state-of-the-art warm-edge spacer system utilized in the high-volume production of dual- and triple-pane insulating glass units.

Windows crafted with Duralite boast a smooth surface appearance, superior argon gas retention, and a warmer edge of glass, enhancing both comfort and energy efficiency in homes.

Preassembled with proven components, including sealant, spacer, and desiccant, Duralite creates a high-performance system.

Additional features include:Duralite warm edge space system

  • Composite laminating technology
  • Polycarbonate spacer element (no metal)
  • Black or gray sightline
  • Proven adhesive technology
  • Optimized packaging
  • Sizes to accommodate airspaces of ¼” (6mm) to 13/16” (20.5mm)

Fusion-welded vinyl is produced by heating two pieces of material until they melt and then bonding them together.

Once cooled, this joint becomes extremely strong and nearly impossible to separate, forming an airtight and waterproof seal.

This method results in a seamless, one-piece window unit that remains strong and durable for many years.

Argon gas is a valuable component in windows because it enhances energy efficiency and stabilizes indoor temperatures. As a colorless and odorless gas, argon is injected into insulated glass units (IGUs) to minimize heat transfer through the window.

This can lead to reduced energy bills and help buildings become more environmentally friendly by adhering to energy performance standards.

Argon gas can also be combined with Low-E coatings to boost R-values, providing effective insulation in all types of climates.

Without an argon gas fill, windows are essentially just glass panes that, at best, only block wind and rain.

Low-E glass, short for low-emissivity glass, features a thin, invisible layer of metallic particles that significantly boosts its energy efficiency.

This special coating functions like a filter, permitting visible light to enter while blocking long wavelengths such as heat. In warm climates, it helps keep heat out of homes, while in cold climates, it prevents heat from escaping.

Additionally, Low-E glass reduces the amount of ultraviolet (UV) light that penetrates, offering protection to furniture and decor from fading.

All windows come equiped with a full FlexScreen, as seen on Shark Tank!
