AnyWeather Heating & Air offers a range of new gas furnaces, with choices ranging from 80 AFUE to 98 AFUE. A furnace with an 80-90 AFUE will require a smaller investment, while a unit with a 90-98 AFUE has a larger up-front cost but can provide energy savings given its higher energy efficiency.
We also offer high efficiency heat pump installation services where we typically pair the heat pump with a gas furnace allowing it to be the source of backup or emergency heat.

Geothermal Systems
Visitors to Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky can tell you the temperature in the cave remains a constant 54 degrees year-round. A geothermal system taps into the earth, enabling it to access the stable, renewable temperature source below ground. These systems are environmentally friendly, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency cites geothermal systems as “the most energy-efficient, cost-effective space heating & cooling systems available today.” With that said, our expert HVAC technicians always walk homeowners through all options as advances in technology have made contemporary high-efficiency furnace, AC, and/or heat pump systems incredibly efficient so one should always look at all options.
Ductwork Services
Leaks in ductwork are a very common source of heat or cooling loss. Duct leaks can drop the heating efficiency of a system by as much as 40% and shorten the life of a furnace or heat pump system by making it work longer and harder. In addition to these drawbacks, leaks can cause indoor air quality issues creating both health and safety issues. AnyWeather Heating & Air provides ductwork services including complete duct system replacement, new ductwork installation, repairing duct holes, and sealing leaky ducts & duct joints.
We currently do not offer ductwork cleaning as a standalone service.
Learn About Current High Efficiency Furnaces
According to the US Department of Energy: Of the energy used in U.S. homes in 2015, 55% was used for heating and cooling. Water heating, appliances, electronics, and lighting accounted for the remaining 45% of total consumption. Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency or the AFUE rating is based on how much heat a source like a furnace produces versus the total energy consumed by that source during the period spanning one year.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has gradually raised HVAC efficiency standards to enhance energy conservation and mitigate environmental impacts. As of 2023, the minimum AFUE rating for new gas furnaces has been adjusted to 81%. Previously, different standards applied across regions, with the South and Southwest having a minimum of 80 AFUE, while the North required a minimum of 90 AFUE. Higher AFUE ratings contribute to reduced energy usage, lower bills, and a smaller environmental footprint.
State-of-the-art, high-efficiency gas furnaces with an 98 AFUE rating translate as 98 cents of a dollar spent heating your home and generating usable heat. Thus higher AFUE rating means a more efficient furnace and reduced energy expense.
If you currently have a gas furnace with a pilot light your estimated AFUE rating typically ranges 55 percent to 65 percent. It does not take a math professor to see a higher AFUE rating in a modern replacement furnace can pay for itself in reduced fuel bills.
